Backing Options for Custom Woven Patches

Backing is the crucial final detail in production: consider where the patch goes and how it attaches, so it looks right and stays secure on your product or garment.

Sew On: the patch is sewn directly onto the garment
Iron On: an adhesive on the patch is activated by heat

Sew-on is slightly sturdier but can add turnaround time; iron-on, with proper care, can last about as long. For exceptional longevity, combine both, known as "Transfer and Sew."

Are DTG patches available?

We make sublimated patches which are very similar to dtg patches. However, there is a two week turnaround time so be sure to be mindful of your timeline when ordering.

Is there size limitations to bulk custom patches?

No, we are able to make patches as large as you want. The only limitation would be the size of your garment. Again, price is determined by stitch count so large patches come with a larger price tag.

What is the difference between woven patches and woven labels?

Woven patches are larger embroidered patches that are made by weaving thread and attaching it to a backing. Woven patches are commonly used for decorative purposes and are sewn or ironed onto the desired item. Woven labels are smaller pieces of fabric that contains information like brand names, logos, care instructions, or size labels. They are thinner and more flexible compared to woven patches. They are typically sewn onto or onto the fabric using a sewing machine.

Merrowed (overlock) or hot-cut borders, plus sew-on, iron-on, transfer-and-sew, velcro, heat-seal, felt, and sticker backings. Sewing the patch on is the most secure method.

Do you offer other patch types?

Do you have a minimum?

There's no minimum when patches are added to garment decoration, and low minimums on patch-only orders. We always recommend ordering a sample before a full run.
